ACID REFLUX  PILLS CAN LEAD  TO MEMORY LOSS

As per a study, 10% developed Dementia after consuming Acid reflux meds.

A Study was published in the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

The Study included 5,712 people, ages 45 and older.  585 people, or 10% developed Memory Loss and impaired Judgement.

People taking acid reflux pills regularly for a period of over 4.4 years were at a 33% higher risk.

People below 44 years of age and taking acid reflux pills only occasionally were not at risk.

Previous studies have shown higher risks of stroke, bone fractures and chronic kidney disease, etc. as well.

As per researcher Kamakshi Lakshminarayan, more research is needed to confirm the possible link.

Considering the possible risk, here are some tips - chew on fresh ginger and drink ginger tea to reduce acid production.

Drink a cup of chamomile tea before bed to help you sleep through the night without heartburn.

Avoid caffeine and alcohol as that can irritate the stomach lining and worsen acid reflux symptoms.

Here are some lifestyle changes that can help to reduce acid reflux: Eat smaller, more frequent meals,

Do not lie down after eating, Use a wedge pillow while sleeping, lose weight, quit smoking and manage stress.
